The second trimester looks different for every woman with her own baseline health status and unique circumstances.

Most pregnant women see their symptoms of morning sickness and extreme fatigue begin to pass, and begin to see more physical pregnancy changes in the second trimester, including a growing belly and weight gain.

This is a period of significant growth for the baby - by the end of the second trimester, the baby will have more coordinated movements and activity within the amniotic sac that mom can usually feel in her abdomen. The baby is also starting to develop senses, including hearing, sight and smell, and will begin to respond to noises and mom's movements.

By the end of the second trimester, the baby will weigh approximately 2 lbs and will be approximately 36 cm long,

about the size of a head of cauliflower.
